- Encourages tissue ingrowth for large, deep wounds
- Prepares wounds for closure or skin grafting
- May require multiple applications
Appearance
- Thin, gooey white-grey gelatinous sheet
- Difficult to view if placed inside deep wound beds
- Fully reabsorbs into the wound over 4-6 weeks
Dressing Frequency
- Change every 5-7 days
- Frequency may increase based on wound appearance and drainage
Dressing Care
HBOT is used to treat a variety of medical conditions, including:
- Before 7 days: Keep xeroform in place if possible.
- After 7 days:
- Gently remove the outer dressing and xeroform layer.
- Drizzle with Vashe.
- Apply wound gel directly to xeroform then apply to wound and cover to dry dressing
- DO NOT USE SILVADENE.
