Appearance

  • Meshed/web-like appearance
  • May vary in color depending on the donor’s skin color
  • Fully reabsorbs into the wound over 4-6 weeks

Dressing Frequency

  • Change daily

Dressing Care

  • Gently cleanse with chlorhexidine soap by drizzling over the wound
  • Rinse with Vashe
  • Cover with Mepitel, Vashe-soaked gauze, and dry gauze or ABD
  • Wrap with Kerlix
  • Important: DO NOT APPLY SILVADENE

Next Steps

  • Patient will proceed to split-thickness skin graft/autograft in 1 week if the wound bed is ready.

  • No restrictions on activity
